Error 5B00 on Canon MP237 printer indicates that the printer is asking us to reset it. For steps for resetting it,:
- Make sure the printer driver has been installed properly.
- Turn off your printer by pressing the power button, let it completely die.
- Remember the power cable (mains) is still in the installed state.
- Press the RESUME button for approximately 2 seconds
- After that you press the POWER button until the green light on (when pressing the POWER button, Resume button not released yet)
- Then release the RESUME button, but do not release the POWER button.
- While the POWER button is still depressed, press the Resume button 5 times. Led will turn orange turns green with the last flame orange. (not to be mistaken 4x because the printer will die in total, but temporary, too)
- Release both buttons simultaneously.
- Led will blink briefly and then will flash GREEN.
- The computer will detect a new device, just ignore it
- This situation shows the MP237 printer in a state of SERVICE MODE and ready to be reset.
The next step is to reset the printer, you must have the software Resetternya first
- Download Software Resetter Canon MP2370 [This tutorial download below]
- Exctract Software Resetter Canon MP237yang you download.
- 2 Prepare a paper in the printer (to print at the time the reset process).
- Run Application / Software Resetter Printer Canon MP237
- Click on the number of applications in the order shown below:

- There will print one page with the words "D = 000.0" after you click No. 1
- and will print one more time after the last click is click on no.3
- Afterwards Turn off the printer and turn it back on.
- Reset Canon MP237 was successful ....
